There is No Substitute for Experience

Debbie Tindle graduated magna cum laude in 1989 from the medical college of Georgia with a bachelor of science of occupational therapy. She has spent most of her career studying and treating chronic musculoskeletal pain. She specialized in the use of deep tissue mobilization techniques such as myofascial release, as well as the more subtle techniques of craniosacral therapy and lymphatic drainage.

Olga Torres, RN LMT, graduates in 1984 from Angelo state university nursing program. She is a registered nurse with over 20 years experience in various areas such medical/surgical, oncology, rehabilitation, and women's health. She also graduated from Lauterstein Conway massage school with 500 hours in Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and myofascial release.

Indika DeSilva graduated from San Jose State University in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. She has worked at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital which is a research/ teaching hospital with USC for 6 years. Indika is also Certified in Neuro development training. She moved to Texas in 1994 and has worked with pain management patients ever since.

Nina Covey, a certified Romana's Pilates instructor, began Pilates at age 15 to complement her classical ballet training. Before her certification, she worked as an engineer in aerospace, biomedical devices, and the military. Nina is passionate about seeing her clients excel through their efforts and her precise instruction. She looks forward to seeing you in the studio.

Shay Ishii completed her Pilates training though the Physical Mind program and received her certificate in 2000. Since then she has been teaching Pilates and movement in fitness, therapy, and academic settings. She has continued her training in Pilates and other somatic studies and holds and MFA in dance from Sam Houston State University and a BS in Dance from Texas State University. Over the past 10 years Shay has worked with seniors and kids, professional athletes and dancers, dads, moms and moms to be. Although her clients have varying fitness and ability levels, her primary goal is the same for all of them, to help them achieve independence, ease and joy of movement and presence in their own body. In addition to working with Pilates clients at Tindle and Associates, she is currently teaching dance and Pilates at Texas State University and serves as artistic director and choreographer of her performance troupe, Shay Ishii Dance Company.

Catherine Pierce was a competitive Irish step-dancer for over ten years in New York. Shortly after moving to Austin in 2001, she discovered Pilates while working as a receptionist at Tindle and Associates . After almost five years as a loyal student of the classical Pilates method, Catherine dedicated a full year in the comprehensive Power Pilates program. Catherine logged more than 500 hours of self practice, teaching and observation on apparatus and mat. While training Pilates clients, Catherine was overwhelmed by how important touch was to her client's wellness and enrolled in Nationally recognized Lauterstein-Conway school of massage. Catherine is thrilled to work side by side with Olga, Deb, and Indika to help you look, feel, and function your best through Pilates and therapeutic massage.

Lauren Tietz– completed her Pilates training from The Pilates Center of Austin, under the direction of Wendy Le Blanc Arbuckle. In 2002 she was certified to teach through the advanced level. Lauren is a dance artist, choreographer and dance teacher currently pursuing an MFA at Transart Institute. As a teacher and artist, she is intrigued by the nature of human perception and the cultivation of presence, authenticity and embodied intelligence. In addition to dance, Lauren's training influences include: Alexander Feldenkrais, Yoga, Martial Arts, Authentic movement, Release Technique, and Meditation.

Tindle and Associates is an Occupational Therapy Practice in Austin, Tx. We offer True, Authentic Pilates (as exercise for the healthy as well as therapy), therapeutic bodywork, massage, and physical rehabilitation.
